Code of conduct
It is mandatory for students to comply with the rules. Any misconduct will lead to the dismissal of the student and return to his/her country of origin.
Behaviour at school
- Endeavour to use French as much as possible.
- Attendance at every class (all lectures, tests and exams as per the class schedule given to the student upon arrival at the school).
- Specific school rules and boarding school rules are to be respected as well as decisions of school staff and teachers.
- Punctuality and good behaviour in class are expected.
- Participation in class is expected.
- Unless otherwise specified, for full board students, lunch is to be taken at the school cafeteria according to the school schedule and rules.
Relations with the host family
- Punctuality and good behaviour to adapt to the family culture and way of life are expected.
- Students are expected to be respectful and polite towards their host family (and vis-versa).
- Students are expected to keep their room clean and tidy as well as the bathroom after use.
- Students must inform the host family of their whereabouts (any place/activity the student goes to after regular classes) and students must respect the host family’s decision on the suitability of such activities.
- Students must inform in advance their host families should they be coming home later than usual, staying at a friend or be out for dinner with a friend.
- Students should keep the house key safe and not lend it to anyone.
- Students are expected to ask the host family’s permission before bringing guests home.
- It is prohibited to smoke at the host family (unless they and the native parents allow it).
- Students must inform the local coordinator and Education en France of any drastic event or change that occurs in the family.
- Relations with the Education en France coordinator and office representatives
- Students should consider the Education en France local coordinators or office representatives as their support during their stay in France.
- Students should not hesitate to call if they have any question or issues.
- Students must respect and obey the decisions of Education en France coordinators and office representatives.
- Students must inform the local coordinator and Education en France office representatives of any personal issue, illness, homesickness or relationship problems that may occur during the programme.
General behaviour and French Law
- It is prohibited to smoke at any public space in France which includes school, boarding school, public transportation, stores, restaurants...
- Shoplifting and theft will result in the immediate return of the student to his/her country.
- The use of alcohol or illegal drugs, possession of either or contact with people related to the use of them is prohibited by law and will result in the immediate dismissal and return of the student to his/her country.
- Sexual experiences or pregnancy during the programme will result in immediate return of the student to his/her country.
- For students safety, the use of any motorised vehicle during the stay in France is absolutely prohibited.
